Day to Day Itinerary
Day 1: Vienna – Banská Bystrica
Transfer from Vienna to the Lower Tatra to Banská Bystrica. Welcome and introduction of the tours, free time for visiting Banská Bystrica.
Day 2: National Park Lower Tatra (Nízke Tatry)
We cross the biggest mountain range of Slovakia. Our walk starts in the southern part of the mountains at the hut Trangoška. Here we ascend to the high mountain hut of M. R. Štefánik, and proceed to the highest summit of the Lower Tatra. Via the mountain crest we climb the peak Chopok – the second highest summit. Wonderful view of the limestone rocks and an unforgettable view over the whole of Slovakia will accompany us during the day.
Day 3: National Park High Tatra (Vysoké Tatry)
The High Tatra is the most beautiful national park in the territory of Slovakia. The High Tatra was the first national park, founded in the year 1948. The highest peak of the High Tatra and of the Carpates is Mount Gerlach (Gerlachovský štít) with an elevation of 2655 m above sea level. Today our tour starts at the mountain lake Štrbské Pleso. From here we ascend to the mountain lake Popradské Pleso, and then to the mountain lake Velké Hincovo Pleso, which is the biggest and deepest mountain lake in the Slovakian part of the High Tatra.
Day 4: National Park the Slovakian Paradise (Slovenský raj)
Slovenský raj is a precious piece of nature, criss-crossed by valleys, ravines, steep walls, waterfalls, and exposed forest tracks. We start our walk at the settlement Cingov and walk to the scenic point Tomáškovský výhlad. From here we have a view of all of the High Tatra. On we hike through the ravine Kláštorná roklina to the summit of the Slovakian Paradise Paradies (Slovenský raj) named Kláštorisko, where ruins of an ancient monastery are found. The monastery nowadays is reconstructed step by step by volunteers of a summer camp. We also visit the ruins.
Day 5: National Park Pieniny
We visit the National Park Pieniny which stretches from the north of Slovakia to the boarder of Poland. The river Dunajec here carved lovely gorges with beautiful views of the surrounding mountains. Afterwards we have a traditional tour on wooden rafts on the Dunajec and visit the picturesque village Cervený kláštor.
Day 6: National Park Muránska Planina (Murán plateau)
Today we walk on a natural route through the national park Muránska Planina and encounter an almost untouched natural countryside. Then we ascend the peak Roven. Afterwards we visit the ruins of the famous fortress Muránsky hrad, a place of many mysterious legends.
Day 7: Vienna
We return you to Vienna and individual departure, or perhaps extend your stay in Europe.
