This popular walking tour follows the famous thousand-year-old pilgrims path from boundary mark to boundary mark through the foothills of the Alps, as you walk on Salzburg’s Route of St James, past Rupert’s Winkl in Bavaria, and into the high mountains of the Alps. The former clerical state of Salzburg always welcomed pilgrims and treated them very well, as it does to this day. Interesting ecclesiastical sites, charming countryside and impressive walks contribute to a relaxing and reviving walking tour.
