We invite you to discover Sicily’s volcano Etna, Stromboli on the same-named island and the extinct crater Vulcano. The climb onto Mt Etna is definitely an unforgettable experience and really a highlight. The ancient Greco-Roman town of Taormina will also bewitch you! It is located high above the sea, with its narrow alleyways, Greek amphitheatre and fantastic views over the coast, palm trees and orange trees and Mt Etna.
In the morning by hydrofoil to island Lipari (duration about 1 hour). Enjoy the beautiful view of the island before you leave the boat. Nested houses are located on the mighty cliff, which is topped by the massive fortress and the cathedral. After a tour through the lively city you walk along the idyllic western side of the island with its steep cliffs. Walking time: approx. 3 hours.
Rest day. Enjoy the beautiful beach of Lipari or go by hydrofoil to the island of Vulcano. You can visit the crater there. The climb up to the peak is strenuous, but you will be rewarded with a wonderful view onto six further Aeolian Islands. Walking time: approx. 3 hours.
In the morning cruise to the island of Stromboli (duration about 1 hour). Take your time to visit the beautiful village San Vincenzo, to go by boat around the island or to explore the village of Ginostra, one of the most beautiful parts of the whole archipelago. In the afternoon guided tour onto Stromboli. Walking time: approx. 4 hours.
Relax at the beautiful black beaches of Stromboli. We recommend doing a walking tour to “Sciara del Fuoco” in the late afternoon to enjoy the beautiful panorama view. Or you go by hydrofoil to the nearby, lively island Panara where you can walk to the picturesque beach of Cala Junco. Walking time: approx. 6 hours.
In the morning by hydrofoil from Stromboli to Milazzo (duration about 2 hours). Transfer from the harbour of Milazzo into bewitching Taormina in the northeast of Sicily, which is located on a cliff high above the Ionian Sea. Lemon and orange trees are growing, the whole village is looking over the water and in the distance the volcano Etna is an impressive backdrop. During your exploration of Taormina you should visit the well-known Greek amphitheatre ruins.
Excursion onto volcano Etna, which shows its real beauty during your walk up. Past old lava flows which buried houses underneath, your tour leads along extraordinary places and paths which can be found only here. Unbelievable views are offered again and again over the Ionian coast of Sicily. Walking time: approx. 4, 5 hours.
The daily tours lead through slightly hilly terrain, the walks up onto the volcanoes are steeper in parts, so surefootedness is required. You are doing 3 to 6 hours and around 15 km per day. so good shape is necessary. The excursion onto volcano Stromboli is the most challenging.
Adequate hiking gear is required.
