This tour uses the deluxe boat Princeza Diana that was launched in 2011, as well as the superb new Melody launched this year. The islands of Brač, Šolta, Vis, Hvar and Korčula as well as some worth-seeing parts of the Croatian mainland are combined into an unforgettable cruise. A wine or honey tasting, plus a meal in a typical Dalmatian Konoba instead of a lunch on board the ship also belong to the plus factors of the trip.
On all Deluxe Tours high quality E-bikes (Cube Delhi Hybrid Pro) can be offered because our specially designed loading ramp makes the embarkation and disembarkation of the bikes far less complicated. Electric bikes are a true declaration of independence for anybody who enjoys activity but may not be quite as fit, or has a health concern. They allow hassle-free cycling as well as climbing mountains without difficulty. But all cycle tours are planned in a way that enables cyclists to also ride a trekking bike – but wanting to spend their vacation on one of the deluxe boats – even if they have just a basic level of fitness.
Individual arrival by plane to Split airport, which is about 3mi./ 5 km away from the harbor of Trogir. After check in on the motor yacht between 2 and 2:30 pm the first cruise starts about 3 pm from Trogir to Hvar Island. Stari Grad is the second largest settlement on the Island of Hvar and well known for its important harbour. Overnight stay in Stari Grad
Today’s first cycle tour leads us along the almost traffic free pass road through nicely set small villages. After breakfast in Stari Grad we do a second cycle tour to the quaint harbors of Jelsa and Vrboska.
Afterwards we return to Stari Grad, which has become a Mecca for artists and art lovers in the past few years. A second cycle tour leads us to the islands capital Hvar, where we visit the magnificent Renaissance Square and enjoy the view at the Spanish Fortress which is situated high above the city. We hop on board again and cross over to Vis Island. Overnight stay on Vis.
Vis is the furthermost island from mainland Croatia. A Greek colony called Issa has been on the island 2,300 years ago. Due to its strategic location it was a military zone until 1995 and prohibited for foreign tourists. Today we have the opportunity to explore the lovely island by bicycle. After cycling the boat takes us to the Island of Korčula. Overnight stay in Vela Luka.
Today we discover the island of Korčula by bicycle and enjoy our lunch break in one of the local restaurants. The calmness and remoteness of the vast vegetation and cypress gardens have given the shape to the probably most beautiful Dalmatian island. Our cycle tour leads us via the village of Blato, like Rome build on seven hills, along a pass road across Pupnat bay and finally to Korčula town, where we have time to take a walk through the wonderful old town with its narrow “fishbone like” alleys. We stay overnight in Korčula town.
We cruise to the island of Brač, which is famous for its shining white marble which was also used for the White House and the Reichstag in Berlin. After a lunch break we start our bicycle tour from Sumartin to the lovely fishing village Povlja or to the picturesque town Pučišća. Overnight stay in Pučišća.
After a morning crossing to Omiš we cycle through the valley of the Cetina River which is surrounded by steep rocks. After 12.5 mi./20 km we have the choice to take part on a four hours rafting tour on the Cetina River (not included in the tour price) and afterwards a small cycle tour of about 6.2 mi./ 10 km back to the boat – or to expand the cycling tour (no rafting) to 27 mi./43 km along small side roads and versatile landscapes until reaching Omiš and its pirate castles. In the afternoon our ship takes us to Split. The old town of Split, built adjoining the famous palace of the Roman Caesar Diocletian, is a world heritage site. Overnight stay in Split.
Cruise to the island of Solta. On your last bike-tour you will see fields surrounded by ancient stone walls as well as numerous olive, fig and carob trees. The lavender and rosemary shrubs give the island its specific fragrance. In Maslinica you load your bikes onto the ship and enjoy the last crossing back to Trogir.
Departure by 9.00am
A good level of fitness is required. The daily routes of 30-60 km cover hilly terrain but can be completed without any time constraints. You will also come across some longer and rather steep climbs, where you might have to push your bike. You can skip a bike-tour and spend a day sunbathing on the ship if you wish.
You can decide every day for yourself whether you would like to cycle on your own using the maps provided, or join one of the tour guides and cycle with the group.
The nearest airport is Split, 10 minutes by taxi from the dock in Trogir (approx. $25)
